DJSNA Privacy Practices
DJSNA respects your privacy. We will only collect, store and use your personal information for defined purposes. These relate to the promotion of Jainism and Jains in North America. We intend to inform you how your personal information will be gathered, tracked or used, and to give you choices. If choices are not offered on web pages where your personal information is obtained, please select one of the communication channels at the bottom of this statement to indicate your communication preferences.
If you are located outside of the United States, please note that this Web site is hosted on our computer servers in the United States. Any personally identifiable information collected through the Website will therefore be transferred to the United States, a jurisdiction that may or may not provide an equivalent level of protection as the data protection laws in your home country. Personal Information Gathering and Sharing Of the Information
Digamber Jain Sangh of North America will do its best to protect your personal information. We request your personal information when you become a member, take a survey, give us any feedback, or contact DJSNA. You make the decision whether to proceed with any activity that requests the personal information. If you do not wish to provide the requested information, however, you may not be able to complete the task.
We use personally identifiable information in the following ways: To provide you with DJSNA Activities, DJSNA Emails, DJSNA Groups, DJSNA Mailings, and DJSNA Members Area to share information or communicate with other members. We also use this information to assist us in improving the DJSNA website and getting feedback on DJSNA activities.
From time to time, we may provide information to selected DJSNA Members to communicate to you about DJSNA activities that we believe are important to you. We may also share your personal registered information with other DJSNA members as part of our objectives and goals to promote Jainism and communication among the Jain community. If you prefer that we not to provide your information to other members you may let us know using one of the methods described in this policy.
Please be advised that in certain instances, it may be necessary for DJSNA to disclose your personal information to government officials, agencies or courts or otherwise as required by U.S. or international laws.
DJSNA provide a way to 'opt-out' of DJSNA sharing your personal information with other members. We may offer you these choices at the time you give us your information during registration or at any other time afterwards. During the time of registration you can select that you do not wish to share your information with other members. Or you can email your request to cancel your membership or restrict sharing of your personal information by updating your profile in the DJSNA Member Log In Area on the DJSNA Home Page or sending us an email at membership@DJSNA.org with instructions on what you would like to do. Please note than you will not be able to join the DJSNA Members area and view other member's information if you decline to share your personal information.
If you do not wish to continue receiving our Email newsletters or bulletins or group communications you can 'opt-out' of receiving these communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line of the Email or canceling that service.
Accessing and Amending Personal Information
It is important that our databases are accurate and current. If you wish to access or update the Personal Information you submit through this website, or to make any inquiries about the processing of such information, please contact us as described below. If you have created a user profile, you may also access and revise the Personal Information in you're "My Profile" link or by Update Your Profile link on the Home Page. In addition, DJSNA provides individuals with access to their Personal Data where we believe appropriate, including in situations where you are entitled to access and review Personal Data under applicable data protection and privacy laws.
If you choose to use our referral services to tell a friend about our website, we will ask for your friends First Name, Last Name and Email Address. We will automatically send your friend an Email inviting him or her to visit the DJSNA website. DJSNA store your friends First Name, Last Name and Email address after sending them an Email. DJSNA does not disclose any of their First Name, Last Name or Email address to Third parties.
Security and Quality of Personal Information
We have taken security measures, consistent with international information practices, to protect your personal information. These measures include technical and procedural steps to protect your data from misuse, unauthorized access or disclosure, loss or destruction.
To help us make Emails more informative, we often receive a confirmation when you open DJSNA Emails regarding Member Activation and Approvals. We will also send you occasional Emails to you informing you about DJSNA Activities and Current News & Events.
We use Email links located on the Contact Us or Feedback page to allow visitors or registered members to contact us directly with any questions or comments they may have. We will attempt to read every message, and we try to reply promptly to everyone. These questions, comments, feedbacks & suggestions will be used at the sole discretion of the DJSNA Committees to make improvements to DJSNA Activities and maybe be shared with other members and be filed for future analysis.

In the DJSNA Website, there are a number of links to other web sites with whom we may have a relationship with or that are related to Jainism or the objectives of DJSNA. Therefore DJSNA is showing you the links to these related websites. DJSNA is not responsible for the privacy practices or operations of these other web sites. We encourage you to read their privacy statements, as they may differ from ours.
Other Privacy Considerations
Please remember that information you submit in a discussion group or forum will be deemed public information and is not confidential. There is a risk in such communication venues that information can be collected and used by others. Please be careful and responsible when you are online.
The DJSNA welcomes children to learn more about our organization and, where appropriate, find opportunities to serve their communities through DJSNA programs and activities. However, we encourage this to be done only with their parent's knowledge and supervision.
In the event there is a major change to DJSNA privacy practices, a prominent notice will be posted on our Web site. If the change involves the use of your personally identifiable information, the notice will contain instructions on how you can opt-out of such use.
